What Was That “Pop?”
During a chiropractic adjustment, you may hear a cracking or popping noise as a joint is opened. Research has shown that small pockets of air exist in the tissue fluid surrounding a joint capsule. When the joint tissues are stretched during a chiropractic adjustment, these air bubbles “pop.” These manipulations allow the chiropractor to restore motion to an area and relieve pressure on the nerve as well as allow the muscles to relax.
